3D Scanning

3D Scanning is another way of procuring the necessary data-info to create an accurate representation of an object. This is a good way to a physical part and get it into the virtual world which consists of a 3d workflow.

Typically, the average workflow would be as follows;

• Starting with a physical part you want to replicate.

• Scanning creates what is known as a point cloud. 

• 3d software is used to transform the point cloud into a cad model.

• The final cad model is then used by mold makers to produce the new mold.
